Swallow The Dark

Writer's picture: Jessy Jessy

i watched her fade in and out of conscious

gaps of forgotten memories through the years

unless brought back by one smile at a time

with one giggle, a joke, another weight is of her chest

she wont let her pain show

not while she has the life to spread the joy she never got

many would call her erratic, crazy, hyper

but only few would know the quite, teary, tried

Fate tied for the soul that feels too much cares too much

one that gives not to quick to take

one that has been tested and twisted

so if she is faced with darkness

she wont show, she will swallow it whole

and all she will do is shine, smile and wave your worries away

while you call her too much dramatic and insane

she picks the strength to do more then get off her bed

she is living, shining, healing, and being more

regaining her yesterday, reclaiming her today, rejoicing her tomorrow
